ATC International offer two types of courses leading to the ACCA examinations:

Block courses

The key elements of ATC International's block intensive ACCA courses are as follows:

  • A four, five or six day block of classroom study per paper depending on the complexity and depth of syllabus.
  • Tutors introduce key topics and explain, illustrate and provide students with examples.
  • Throughout the course, tutors concentrate on appropriate exam techniques for each subject.
  • Tutors review key areas and reinforce the main exam issues through the use of past examination questions.
  • During the final session of the course, tutors brief students on their final preparation and revision.
  • Students are expected to take a mock exam for each paper. This could be invigilated either immediately following the end of the Block intensive course, or on an agreed date approximately four weeks before the ACCA examination.  All mock exams are marked, and the results notified to participants, before the ACCA exam, within 8 days of completion.
  • Students will be supported between the end of the Block intensive course and the ACCA examination via the PTC Newsgroup and Student Helpline services, and through scheduled mailshots. These will prompt students to manage their self-study time effectively, alert them to essential reading and provide Mock Examiner's feedback, with final revision guidance.

Link courses

The key elements of ATC International's link ACCA courses are as follows:

Introductory courses - two days of intense training per paper usually at weekends.

  • Tutors introduce key topics and explain, illustrate and provide students with examples.
  • Throughout the course, tutors concentrate on appropriate exam techniques for each subject.
  • During the final session, tutors hand out and brief students on the directed study guides.

Directed self-study and monitoring tests: following formal programmes with specific targets, leading to a monitoring test.

  • ATC International currently provides two Monitoring tests per paper, as an integral feature of its methodology: one self-study and the other invigilated under examination conditions. The first is designed to consolidate knowledge of the Introductory teaching, and the second to motivate students to self-study, and provide meaningful feedback on their progress. Marks are available within 8 days of sitting.
  • These written tests are designed to prepare students for the style and standard of the ACCA papers. It is our belief that the written format offers the most appropriate preparation for their examinations, for example by requiring students to assimilate information from case studies, and present discursive answers.

Revision courses and mock exams: three to five days per paper depending on complexity and depth of syllabus.

  • Tutors review key areas and reinforce the main exam issues through the use of revision examples.
  • Considerable time is devoted to setting and reviewing past exam and other exam standard questions.
  • Students are expected to take a mock exam for each paper. All mock exams are marked, and the results notified to them before the ACCA exam, within 8 days of completion.
